The meeting will be held at the Southwestern Illinois College Red Bud Campus in the Performing Arts room on January 27, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Light refreshments will be available.
CREP is available to all landowners in the Kaskaskia River Watershed who have cropland in the 100 year floodplain. This program is targeted at improving water quality by establishing conservation practices on cropland which reduce sedimentation, soil erosion, and excessive nutrients, while enhancing wildlife and fish habitat.
To find out if your cropland is eligible for CREP, and to learn more about the financial incentives for landowners, plan on attending January 27, 2011.
