Mary L. Mydler
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary L. Mydler, 54, of Tamaroa, passed away at 7:50 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 at her residence.
Mary attended South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, where she earned her degree in Mine Engineering.
Mary loved to garden and be outdoors. She was a very active member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Du Quoin. She served on the church counsel and was a member of the Lutheran Womens Missionary League.
She was also a teachers aid for many years at the Bethel Lutheran Pre School. Mary was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was born Sept. 21, 1956 at Yankton, South Dakota, the daughter of Leonard and Nellie (Rheiner) Nielsen.
Mary married Roy A. Mydler on Nov. 29, 1980 at Du Quoin and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Tamaroa, son- Alan Mydler of Tamaroa, step sons- Wade Mydler and wife Jane of Du Quoin, Royce Mydler and wife Charlotte of Du Quoin, step daughter- Amy Ferando and husband Marcus of Whittington, four grandsons- Brenton and Hunter Burden and Waylon and Cash Mydler, three sisters- Kathy Highstreet of York, Nebraska, Nancy Faulkner and husband Gary of Scottland, South Dakota, Karen Thompson and husband Steve of Elkhorn, Nebraska, brother- Andy Nielsen of Mission Hill, South Dakota, numerous nieces, nephews and several special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother - Jim, sister-in-law- Carol and great nephew.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Mark Buetow officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church on Thursday.
Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Bethel Lutheran Church or the Bethel Lutheran Church PreSchool and will be accepted at the funeral home.
