Red Bud man pleads guilty to aggravated criminal sexual assault

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Red Bud man who was arrested on October 7, 2010 for aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault & aggravated battery has plead guilty in Randolph County court.

Mateo Gomez-Rosete, 23, plead guilty to aggravated criminal sexual assault of a Red Bud woman who was jogging when the attack occurred.

According to Randolph County State's Attorney Randy Rodewalk, Mr. Gomez-Rosete also physically assaulted her by beating her about her face and body.

The charge is a Class X felony, which carries a possibility of 6 to 30 years in the department of corrections. It is not probational and is subject to the Truth in?Sentencing Act. This means that Gomez-Rosete will have to complete 85% of his sentence.

Judge Richard Brown accepted his guilty plea. He further ordered that a pre-sentence investigation report be completed. Mr.?Gomez-Rosete will be sentenced on March 4, 2011
