</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[CHESTER - The Chester Cub Scouts Pack 316 held their annual Pinewood Derby January 9th at St. John Memorial Hall. The day was packed with anticipation and relief. A total of 49 scouts and Leaders raced their cars they had built. The top finishers of each Den are as follows:

Tiger Den #3, Isaac Jany, average speed of 75.4 mph

Tiger Den #6, Jack Heck, average speed 78.1 mph

Wolf Den #5, Ethan Griffith, average speed 80.4 mph

Wolf Den #7, Camdyn Shemonic, average speed 84.3 mph

Wolf Den #11, Eli Hughes, average speed 83.5 mph

Bear Den #8, Ronin Doiron, average speed 84.6 mph

Bear Den #14, Chett Andrews, average speed 80.0 mph

Scorpions, Cody Wahl, average speed 84.8 mph

Dragons, Zach Zappa, average speed 80.6 mph

Anything Goes, Clayton Andrews, average speed 109.4 mph

A new category that was added this year was the Anything Goes. Anyone was allowed to participate in this event and use their creative minds. This category had no restrictions or rules except that the car had to cross the finish line. Congratulations to all of those that participated in this category. It was a crowd pleaser and will continue to be part of the future Pinewood Derby races.

Top 3 finishes over all that will also advance to the District Derby March 5th hosted by Pack 316 were: 1st place - Cody Wahl, 2nd place - Camdyn Shemonic and 3rd place - Ronin Doiron
