Popeye sign to be repaired
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[At their meeting on February 7 the Chester City Council discussed repairing the Popeye sign at Segar Park. A motion was passed to accept an estimate of $2,358 from Main Street Signs for the needed repairs.
In other action a motion passed to purchase two portable radios needed by the fire department. The radios will be obtained from Warner Communications at a total cost of $1,194.66.
An agreement was reached with Charlie Eggemeyer and Donna Herrell to run the concession stands at the Cohen Complex baseball and softball fields.
In personnel news, the council voted to hire Carissa Young as a part-time dispatcher based on a request by Police Chief Ryan Coffey.
