SIUC recieves grant
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Southern Illinois University Carbondale has been awarded a $430,540 grant from the National Institutes of Health of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The funds will be used for a research project, directed by Boyd Goodson, titled "Surface Functionalized SPIONs for pH-Sensitive MRI Contrast in Physiologically-Relevant Regimes."
"Investing in scientific research is an important component of the federal budget," said Costello. "This is another example of SIUC's standing as a leading research facility, and I will continue to support these efforts."
