Tamaroa Theft Suspect in Court April 29

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[One of two suspects recently arrested in a string of Tamaroa thefts is scheduled to be in court April 29. Suspect Alecia Soto will appear in Perry County Circuit Court to notify a judge as to who her legal counsel will be. The other suspect, Jason Soto, remains in the Perry County Jail.

On Monday Feb. 14, 2011 at approximately 4 p.m., Sheriff's deputies arrested Alecia Soto, 19, of Tamaroa, on charges of theft. Alecia is accused of being in possession of four tires that were reported taken from the Michael Davis property in Tamaroa on or about Jan. 28, 2011. Alecia was incarcerated in the Perry County Jail on a warrant for theft. Alecia posted $3,000 cash bond on Thursday, February 17 and was released.

That same day, Feb. 17, at approximately 11 a.m. Sheriff's deputies arrested Jason Soto, 25, of Tamaroa, on a Perry County warrant for burglary. Jason is accused of entering a building owned by Michael Davis of Tamaroa on or about Jan. 28 to commit a theft. Jason was incarcerated in the Perry County Jail on the warrant. Bond is set at $40,000.

"Chief Deputy Mike Plumlee and Lt. Steve Behm did a great job of investigating the burglary and went to great lengths to make the arrest possible," commented Sheriff Keith Kellerman.

An investigation is continuing into the case.
