CHS to present broadway hit musical, ‘Hello Dolly'
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Chester High School will present the Broadway Musical, "Hello Dolly" next week Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday March 10-13. The huge hit will take place on Juergen's Gym Stage at Chester High.
Show times are 7 p.m. for the first three shows Thursday, Friday and Saturday March 10-12 and there will be a Sunday Matinee march 13 at 2 p.m. This year's production is being directed by Paula Ray, CHS Drama Director in her first Chester High School musical. Music Director is Steve Colonel who is no stranger to CHS musicals.
Artistic Director is Keyona Fisher with Paul and Mary Stallman as set Directors. In all there are approximately 95 cast members, set crew, stage hands, musicians and others associated with the 2011 production of "Hello Dolly".
Tickets are now on sale at the Chester High School Office by calling 618-826-2302 or visiting the office 8 a.m. till 4 p.m. Cost for seats is only $7.00 for adults or $4.00 for students.
Senior Laura Liefer stars in the role of Dolly Gallagher with junior Ben Asselmeier as Horace Vandergelder. Senior Zach Lochhead has the role of Cornelius Hackl while freshman Joel Clendenin takes the stage as Barnaby Tucker.
Another lead role is played by no stranger to the CHS stage as senior Taylor Crum is featured as Irene Malloy. Minnie Fay is played by junior Emily Fricke and Brian Hartman acts in the role of Ambrose Kemper. Junior Jenna Wingerter has the role of Ermengarde.
Finally other key roles are played by Ariel gales as Ernestina, Elizabeth McClure as Mrs. Rose, Austin Redeker as Rudolph Reisenweber, Chris Dudenbostle as Judge, Jared Johnson as Court Clerk, Jacob Lochhead as First Cook and Caleb Arbeiter as Second Cook.
The entire Chester High School Swing Choir, "Sound Affect" is on stage as Waiters, Townspeople, Chorus Members and Dancers while this year's production will feature a live orchestra consisting of mostly adult musicians including Jim Beers on drums and percussion, Vicky Beers on saxophone, Sue Colonel on clarinet, Zeb Holder on bass, Melanie Johnson on bells and timpani, Linda Kriete on trumpet, Jamie McAdams on flute and Mesha Reiman on trombone.
The makeup and costume crew consists of Felicia Poe, Taylor marks, Morgan Colvis, Destiny Kingery and Andrea Wagner while Brad Bindel and Joe marks run the light board. The set and prop crew consists of Kaylub Arwood, Steven Colonel, Robert Gonzalez, Zach Heldebrandt, Sarah Lochhead, Justin Marks, Nicole Rains, Aaron Schwier, Jordan Shroyer and Zach Woods.
The lighting crew consists of Garret Alms, Kaitlyn Brown, Dylan Stallman and Julian Starr. Set and Prop Crew Directors include Sydney Haberberger, Kristen Maes and Tally Taylor. Mike Lutz is Sound Director while Brenda Owen is Costume Director.
The public is strongly encouraged to attend this huge hit of Broadway which promises to be musically pleasing, very funny and most entertaining.
