VOLLEYBALL: St. Bruno scores a win; DMS falls to Benton
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Lady Falcons improved to 8-3 on the season on Tuesday night with a 26-24, 25-13 victory over St. Ann at St. Bruno gym in Pinckneyville.
Mady Epplin led the way with 14 service points for St. Bruno, five coming during a 5-0 Lady Falcons start to the second game. Kaylee Rulevish had a game-high 4 kills in the match.
Natalie Dudek had 6 points serving, Jordyn Bullar 5, Mara Kuberski and Rulevish each had 2.
St. Bruno's seventh graders, fresh off of a championship at the Coulterville tournament, also took care of St. Ann, winning 25-5 and 25-16. The Lady Falcons' seventh grade squad is now 10-1 overall.
St. Bruno will meet St. John (West Frankfort) on Thursday at home (6:00 p.m.).
<u>DUQUOIN FALLS TO BENTON IN VOLLEYBALL</u>
The DuQuoin Middle School Volleyball Team met defeat at the hands of Benton on Tuesday evening. Both the DuQuoin eighth grade and seventh grade teams were overpowered by Benton at 2-0 to win both matches.
The eighth grade game scores were 25-16 and 25-15 in Benton's favor. DuQuoin's record is now 10-3-1 overall and 5-2 in the conference. The eighth grade is coached by Isaac Miller.
Hope Fenton led the eighth grade with 5 kills. Carissa Graham had 8 assists while Jacqueline Harsy had 6 digs. Amanda Atteberry was 11-11 at the serving line, scoring 7 points with 3 aces.
The seventh grade lost their match at 2-0 also. The seventh grade record is 8-2 overall and 7-0 in the conference. The scores and stats for the seventh grade were not readily available.
DMS travels to Carbondale on Thursday for a match, and on Friday is at home with Massac County (5:00). DMS also has a game on Saturday (10:00) at Trico.
