Arthur J. Wagner

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Arthur J. Wagner, 75, of Scheller, Ill., passed away 4:35 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at Washington County Hospital in Nashville, Ill.

Arthur was born Feb. 11, 1936 in Scheller, Illinois the son of John F. and Clara (Gajewski) Wagner. He was a member of St. Barbara&#39;s Catholic Church in Scheller and the Mt. Vernon Knights of Columbus. Arthur was a farmer and helped out on the family farm. He was a "people person" and had no trouble making friends.

He is survived by one brother Father Frank Wagner, O.M.I. of Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister Louise M. and husband Melvin Kabat of Scheller; two nephews Mark Kabat and wife Lori of Scheller and John Kabat and wife Marcia of Scheller; three nieces Lois and husband Bobby Herzing of Scheller, Mary and husband David Kozuszek of Scheller and Helen Young of Santa Fe, N.M. and also 11 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Louis H. Wagner.

Mass of Christian burial was held 10 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 at St. Barbara&#39;s Catholic Church in Scheller, with Father Frank Wagner, O.M.I. and Father Jean-Marie Mondji officiating. Burial followed at St. Barbara&#39;s Catholic Cemetery in Scheller. Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville. Rosary service was held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials may be made to the St. Barbara&#39;s Catholic Cemetery or the Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive for the Intellectually Disabled and will be accepted at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville.
