Bernard A. Mann

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Bernard A. Mann, age 47, of Sunset Hills, Mo., formerly of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 in St. Clare Hospital, Fenton, Mo. from complications of a heart attack.

Bernard was born on Jan. 6, 1964 in Pinckneyville, Ill., a son to Joseph and Mary Ann (Malinski) Mann. On Oct. 15, 1999, he married Christine Rohr in St. Charles, Mo. and she survives. He was a graduate of St. Bruno School (1978), Pinckneyville High School (1982) and St. Louis College of Pharmacy, graduating with a Doctorate of Pharmacy. Bernard was a practicing pharmacist at Walgreens in St. Louis, Mo. for over 20 years and was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta fraternity at St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He was of the Catholic faith and St. Bruno's Catholic Church was his home parish. Hunting and fishing were dear to Bernard's heart and he tried to never miss a season. He was an avid cyclist and rode often for the M. S. Society. Bernard was a loving husband and father and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Bernard is survived by his wife, Christine Mann of Sunset Hills, Mo.; one son, Travis J. (Jeanette) Mann of St. Louis, Mo.; daughter, Jamie Green of Sunset Hills, Mo.; mother, Mary Ann Mann of Pinckneyville, Ill.; three sisters, Rose (Steve) O'Brien, Jane (David) Barclay and Margaret (Ron) Przygoda; two grandchildren, Devon Joseph Mann and Lydia Deborah Mann; two sisters-in-law, Cheri (Don) Manhart, and Cindy (Greg) Kroupa; mother-in-law, Nancy Besserman, many nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to count.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph G. Mann.

Funeral mass was held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Trevor Murray officiating. Interment was in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery.

Friends called at Bopp Chapel 10610 Manchester Road Kirkwood, Mo. on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday at Pyatt Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

Memorials may be made to Pinckneyville Knights of Columbus Council #2921, Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital Fund, or St. Bruno's Cemetery.
