</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary "Sis" Rath, age 82, of Pinckneyville, Ill, passed away on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011 at 8:35 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital Emergency Room, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Sis was born on Dec. 4, 1928 in Du Quoin, Ill., a daughter to Roy and Lena (Hirsch) Arendell. On Sept. 4, 1948, she married Raymond E. Rath in Du Quoin, Ill. and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2001. Sis was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Du Quoin, Ill.. She was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband on the family farm. Sis enjoyed coaching and playing softball when she was younger. She also enjoyed bowling and NASCAR racing. She was devoted to her family and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Sis is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Steve) Huelsmann of Pinckneyville, Ill.; one brother, Jack (Janet) Arendell of Alton, Ill., one granddaughter, LeeAnn (Melvin) Williams of Pinckneyville, Ill.; five great-grandchildren, Courtenay (Matt) Ellis, Brandon Robinson, Allie and Katie Moody and Mary Williams, all of Pinckneyville, Ill.; one great-great grandchild, Camdon Ellis of Pinckneyville, Ill. and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and one sister, Anna Mae.

Funeral services were held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Rich Luh officiating. Interment was in Parrish Cemetery, Vergennes, Ill.

Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
