Ellis Grove man injured in crash

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[On April 6 at 7:21 a.m. an accident in Eden was reported to the Illinois State Police. According to the Illinois State Police media line, Andy Dilday, 34 of Pickneyville, IL was traveling Eastbound on Route 154 in a SUV when he allegedly struck highway construction worker Dale Davitz, 72 of Ellis Grove.

According to the report Davitz was working as a highway flagman and was stopping traffic within the construction zone.

Davitz was taken to Sparta Hospital with major injuries.

Dilday was charged with failure to stop for a flagman in a construction zone, no valid registration and defected windshield. Dilday was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident and received no injuries. His vehicle had minor damge.
