Delbert G. Doerflein Sr.
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Delbert G. Doerflein Sr., 70, of Tamaroa, passed away at 9:25 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Delbert had worked at Turco Mfg. in Du Quoin for many years. He had also worked in asbestos removal.
He was of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict. Delbert was a life member of the Du Quoin VFW and American Legion.
He was born July 2, 1940 at Du Quoin, Ill. the son of George and Margaret L. (Rice) Doerflein.
He is survived by a son- Delbert G. Doerflein Jr. of Huntsville, Ala., a daughter- Deborah A. Lee and husband Wayne of Du Quoin, four grandchidlren- Amber Doerflein, Hannah Doerflein and Bethany Doerflein all of Huntsville, Ala. and Shelby Lee of Du Quoin, two brothers- Bill Doerflein and wife Donna of Tamaroa and David Doerflein and wife Sue of Rice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother- Donald Doerflein.
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Bro. Ron Carter officiating.
Friends called from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial was in the McElvain Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Military graveside rites were conducted by the Du Quoin VFW and American Legion.
Friends may make memorials to the American Cancer Society or McElvain Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
