hosted their Annual Chalk Walk festival on April 7th at Steeleville

High School. The event began at 9:00 a.m. and concluded with the

announcement of the winners at around 1:30 pm.

Upon arriving at the high school Thursday morning, teams of

two to four students had approximately four hours to create a large

scale street mural using chalk and pastels.

A panel of professionals in the field of art judged the finished

works. Cash prizes were awarded to the winning teams.

Supplies were provided and lunch was served. In additional to

cash prizes, other door prizes were awarded.

This is the 8th year for the events and participating schools

have increased each year, with the total students attending this

year reaching 300 students from 11 schools.
