</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jennifer Stumpe, Head Coach for Chester High School Girl's Track and Field Team, is of the opinion that the 2010 Outdoor Season should be promising. "The outdoor season is looking promising", said Stumpe. "We have a young team with a handful of returning seniors. I am expecting the seniors to perform well this year and lead the team to winning season."
The Lady Jackets roster consists of six seniors including Jordan Clendenin, Tiffani Marshall, Hanna Knop, Jillian Yankey, Kristy Pulliam and Jade Jolly. Jenna Wingerter is the only junior Lady Jacket on the squad for 2011.
The Jackets boast nine sophomores including Arien Wright, Chelsea Schroeder, Jenna Tressler, Courtney Johnson, Taylor Yankey, Libby Bollmann, Jessica Miller, Marah Laramore and Holly Hartman. Six freshmen round out the 2011 roster including Sarah Bindel, Alexandria Fedderke, Maribeth Lawrence, Kaylee Ludwig, Rachel Berner and Kristi Beam.
Coach Stumpe stated, "Jordan Clendenin should be a standout for us in the pole vault and Tiffani Marshall will be a leader in the hurdles. Jillian Yankey and Hanna Knop will be the primary leaders in the distance events."
"We are hoping for a full recovery for two more seniors, Kristy Pulliam and Jade Jolly, who injured their knees earlier this year while playing basketball. The only other upper classman, Jenna Wingerter, a junior, will likely bring us good performances in the sprints and jumping events", noted Stumpe.
The remainder of the 2011 Track and Field Lady Jackets will be made up of a very talented group of sophomores and freshmen. "We are looking forward to a very good season ahead of us", claimed Coach Stumpe.
The Lady Jackets will have plenty of excellent leadership and coaching from a very talented coaching staff this year under Stumpe's direction. Mike Coffey, CHS Boy's Head Coach, Scott Haxton, CHS Head Coach for Cross Country, Bob Koenegstein, who has been a member of the coaching staff for track and cross country for several years and Curt Gilpin, a former college runner, will join Stumpe in the task of guiding the Lady Jackets to success in 2011.
Inclement weather has gotten the track and field teams off to a rough start this season with the cancellation of the first two home meets of the year, but better weather is in the forecast and the Jackets will sprint out to a very competitive season soon.
The Jackets will host the 2011 Chester Freshman Invitational Meet Thursday April 7 regular season home meets on Tuesday April 19 and Monday May 9 before hosting the 2011 Black Diamond Boy's Conference Meet Thursday May 12 and the 2011 IHSA Girl's Sectional Meet the next day Friday May 13.
