Carl Louis Rodely

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Carl Louis Rodely, 88, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away after years of failing health at 1:30 a.m. on April 2, 2011.

He was born Sept. 17, 1922, to Carl and Della (Hazemeyer) Rodely in Du Quoin, Ill., where he was raised.

He worked at the A & P Grocery Store in Du Quoin before joining the U.S. Air Force in August of 1948. He met and married Jean Calton in Bury St. Edmundson, England in 1955. She preceded him in death in 1999.

He retired from the Air Force in November of 1968 as a Tech Sergeant after 20 years of service. He then worked at Baldrige Lumbar Co. in Albuquerque, N.M. and retired from there in 2005.

He is survived by a son, Carl Douglas (Laura) Rodely; a grandson, Carl Douglas Rodely Jr.; a granddaughter, Denise Ann Rodely; three step-children, Michelle Kalas, Melisa Kalas and Chris (C.J.) Kalas, all of Albuquerque, N.M.; five sisters, June Smith of Du Quoin, Gledith (Joe) Chapman of Pinckneyville, Janet Cavins of Murphysboro, Cecile Melvin of Du Quoin and Paulette Wheatley of Du Quoin and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother, Loris Rodely; two sisters, Mae Sgroi and Marcine Cerne; a stillborn niece, Della Rose Cavins and a nephew, Jeffery Dale Melvin.

Funeral services were held at Direct Funeral Services in Albuquerque, N.M. on April 12, 2011. Burial with full military rites followed in Santa Fe, N.M.
