Thomas E. Miner, 51

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Thomas E. Miner, 51, of Springfield, passed away on April 13, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center.

Thomas was born March 2, 1960 in Chicago, the son of Tommy Eugene and Roselyn Leigh Miner. He married Mary Casetta on October 20, 1984 in Chester, IL.

Thomas graduated from LaSalle High School in Chicago and proudly served our country as a U.S. Marine. He was known for being fun loving and for being a good dancer. His favorite things in life were golf, dancing, NASCAR, Cardinals baseball, boating, camping and annual vacations with his family and friends. Thomas was retired as a Major with the Illinois Department of Corrections and most recently worked for Memorial Medical Center as a Sergeant in their Security department.

He is preceded in death by his mother.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Miner of Springfield; son, Jason Miner of Springfield; daughter; Casey Miner of Springfield; father, Gene Miner of Chester, IL; siblings, Tim, Sherry, and Charlie Miner all of Chester, IL; half brother, Troy Miner of Chester, IL; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.

Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
