Erma L. Hagler

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Erma L. Hagler, age 85, of Elkville, Ill., passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 1:45 p.m. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Carbondale, Ill.

Erma was born on Feb. 18, 1926 in Bay City, Ill., a daughter to David and Harriet Faye (Faughn) Lackman. On July 1, 1950, she married Carl O. Hagler in Royalton, Ill. and he survives. Erma was a secretary for many years for Unity Point School and Giant City School and worked in the family store, H & M Salvage. She was a member of the Elkville Baptist Church, Elkville, Ill., enjoyed reading and eating ice cream and Hershey's Kisses. Erma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dearly loved spending time with her family and friends.

Erma is survived by her husband, Carl Hagler of Elkville, Ill.; four daughters, Linda (Howard "Butch") Hicks of Desoto, Ill., Joyce (Dennis) Watson of Harrisburg, Ill., Susan (Ron) Blumenstock of Desoto, Ill. and Janet (Terry) Wright of Elkville, Ill.; one brother, Aubrey Lackman of West Frankfort, Ill.; one sister, Anna Lee Lackman of Hopkinsville, Ky,; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Coy Wayne Lackman.

Graveside services were held at Lipe Cemetery, Makanda, Ill. on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Darrell Williams officiating. Family and friends were asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Lipe Cemetery, Makanda, Ill.
