BASEBALL: George one-hits Waltonville in five

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[After the storms and the rain, the sun finally came out again on Thursday. The sun was shining on DuQuoin Baseball as they defeated Waltonville 10-0 in five innings. Brandon George had an outstanding pitching performance throwing a one hitter and a shut out.

George got the win for the Indians. He pitched five innings, allowing no runs, one hit, had 8 strikeouts, and no walks. The losing pitcher for Waltonville was Gill. He allowed ten runs (5 unearned), ten hits, had one strikeout, and five walks. Gill also had the one hit for Waltonville.

DuQuoin had ten hits in the contest. J.C. Davis was 0-2, but had two walks and scored both times. Kegan Robbins was 3-4 with a double and an RBI. Brandon George was 1-3 with an RBI. Drew Bennett was 1-2 with an RBI and a walk. Trent Bigham was 2-3 with an RBI. Connor Wheeler was 2-3 with an RBI. Dylan Pyron was 1-3. Travis Chapman was 0-1 with two walks.

Also seeing playing time were Jake Stanhouse and Camden Youngman. DuQuoin had one error in the game and Waltonville committed five.

Coach Tim Craft had this to say about the game: "It is good to be out of the Gym! Brandon George did a great job of pitching, and we came out and hit the ball today. We played a good all around game today."

DuQuoin&#39;s record is now 5-11 overall and 1-5 in the conference. The Indians travel to Nashville on Friday for a conference match. Both the Varsity and Jr. Varsity will play.
