</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Gene Nippe passed away in his home in Strasburg, Ill. on Thursday, April 28, 2011. He was 84 years old.

Gene is survived by three brothers, Harold of California, Roger of Tamaroa and Jim of Du Quoin.

Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 1 at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Strasburg.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 2 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Strasburg
