Lucy Ann Garrett

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lucy Ann Garrett, age 91 of Elkville, Ill., passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at her daughters home in Elkville, Ill.

Lucy was born on Dec. 7, 1919 in Crossville, Ill., a daughter to William and Lucy Ann (Graves) Renshaw. On Oct. 4, 1940, Lucy married Harmon Burt Garrett at Panther Creek Church, Red Field, Iowa. Harmon preceded Lucy in death on May 10, 1998. She was homemaker who loved taking care of her family and enjoyed cooking home cooked meals for family and friends. Lucy was a member of Spirit of Life Christian Church, Du Quoin, Ill., her entire life was devoted to doing God's work. Lucy will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Lucy is survived by three daughters: Louise (Gene) Anderson of Elkville, Ill., Linda (Hugh) Wilson of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Vonda (Rod) Kellogg of Du Quoin, Ill.; 11 grandchildren: Susan Anderson, Velvet Parrilli, Gale LeMasters, Johnna Francis, Melody Ross, Brian Wilson, Scott Wilson, Ron Wilson, Kevin Wilson, Karen Cook and Michelle O'Neal; 21 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother: Jim Renshaw and a sister: Clara McKnight.

Funeral services were held at Spirit of Life Christian Church, Du Quoin, Ill. on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gerald Wright officiating. Interment was in Stokes Chapel Cemetery in Crossville, Ill.

Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, Ill. on Sunday, May 8, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday morning at Spirit of Life Christian Church from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Memorial may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
