Pauline A. Halstead

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Pauline A. Halstead, 86, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:47 p.m., Sunday, May 8, 2011 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center at Marion.

Pauline was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin and the Crusaders Sunday School Class.

She was born Nov. 14, 1924 at Perry County, Ill., the daughter of Lawrence and Mary M. (Fisher) Dempsey.

She married Don H. Halstead on Aug. 26, 1946 at Pinckneyville, Ill. and he preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2001.

She is survived by one son - Mark Halstead of Du Quoin, four grandchildren - Summer Halstead of Arlington Heights, Ill., Blake Halstead and wife Andrea of Fairview Heights, Ill., Cassandra Halstead and Eli Halstead, both of Du Quoin, one step grandson - Jason Brock Childers of Du Quoin and one brother - Wilbur Dempsey of Rockford, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter - Diana Lynn Halstead, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Mike Ebersohl officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the First United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
