More Reid's/Quality Character Awards at CHS

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Seven more students at Chester High School were recently presented with Reid's/Quality Character Awards for demonstrating good character either at school or in the classroom.

Alexandria Fedderke, a freshman, was nominated for her award by teacher Darlene Hornbostel for volunteering to assist her in class with various tasks. Fedderke quite frequently volunteers to help out during home room time.

Dani Homan, a junior, was nominated by School Guidance Counselor, Franciene Sabens, for being very helpful to another student who was in distress. "Dani noticed another student who was distressed and brought her to the office. She stayed with her until the situation was resolved", stated Sabens.

Steven Colonel, a sophomore, was nominated by Barb Hennrich. Hennrich stated that Steven always works hard in class and that he is a great student. He frequently volunteers in class and is very helpful.

Nick gross, a freshman, was nominated by Brenda Coop who recommended him for always being willing to help students in class who are having trouble with class work. "He is always pleasant and ready to go to work. I am honored to be his teacher", said Coop.

Coach Bell nominated junior Brandon Young for volunteering to carry basketball equipment to the coaches' office in his spare time. Bell noted that Young is a very dependable, helpful student who can always be counted on to assist when there is work to be done.

Ethan Lindsay, a senior, was nominated by Judy Wolters and Barb Hennrich for helping to guide a fellow student during home room. Lindsay helps with home work and provides sound advice to students regarding home work and other issues in class and home room.

Finally, Kyle Oettle, a sophomore, was nominated by Barb Hennrich for working hard to improve his algebra grade and to maintain his homework load throughout the week. Oettle is a hard-working student who is driven and also helpful to others.

The Reid's/Quality Character Program is ongoing at CHS as it has been for almost a decade. Sponsors include Brad and Tia Reid of Reid's Harvest House and Reid's Best Western Inn in Chester and Dale Rucker of Quality Vending and Quality Car Wash in Chester.

Each recipient receives a Reid's Harvest House Gift Certificate good for a free meal and drink at Reid's Harvest House as well as a coupon for a free soda at the Student Council concession stand. Nominations are made by CHS teachers and staff. Program Coordinator is Dr. Jim Beers, District # 139 Wellness Coordinator.
