Fireworks Back! No Carnival, Consolidated Livestock Show at Perry County Fair
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Perry County Fair, Illinois' oldest continuously running fair starts Sunday June 12 with a western horse show at 9 a.m.
The fair will bring back a large fireworks display on Wednesday night, but the 2011 fair will be absent a carnival and some categories in the livestock and western horse shows have been consolidated.
Board member Sam Robb said the fair board actually changed the dates of this year's fair to accommodate a carnival vendor, then at the last minute the vendor contracted for another venue.
Robb said consolidation of the livestock and horse show began last year and continues this year as some categories are fully filled. Others have less interest.
As always there is free parking and admission on to the grounds. Grandstand events vary from Free - $10, depending on the event. The fair board is asking you to come out and see the home shows, the baby photo contest, listen to some great music, visit our food vendors and more.
