Local piano pupils register in National Fraternity of Student Musicians

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Three local piano pupils of Linda Roth, formerly of Chester and now of Manchester, Missouri, have registered as candidates for membership in the National Fraternity of Student Musicians, sponsored by the National Guild of Piano Teachers, Teachers Division of the American College of Musicians, of which Roth is a member .

Registering were Alana Meyer and Jared Meyer, daughter and son of Ron and Sue Meyer and Lauren Welge, the daughter of Rob and Paige Welge, all are from Chester. This group of young pianists performed in the National Piano Playing Auditions held at Missouri Baptist University and sought Pledge, Local, District, Hobbyist, Duet, Ensemble, State, National or International honors.

The American College of Musicians evaluated the students' performances based on their presentation of Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary works. Each student performed in the presence of a professional adjudicator chosen by the National organization who examined their repertoire. Their adjudicator was Laura J. Heagle, from Denver, Colorado.

Throughout the US and abroad, over 100,000 enthusiastic piano pupils will participate in the annual National Piano-Playing Auditions which are held in over 880 music centers. Each entrant was given a certificate, a gold, silver or bronze embossed pin, a report card and a year's membership in the National Fraternity of Student Musicians.
