Chester's Baughman and Landon shine at State Meet.

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Chester high School Track and Field athletes, John Baughman and Kyle Landon finished their 2011 seasons with excellent performances last weekend as Baughman, a senior, and Landon, a sophomore, finished at the top of the IHSA Class 1A Finals held at Charleston, Illinois on the campus of Eastern Illinois University. Baughman finished 3rd in the state in the pole vault with his vault of 14'9". Landon finished in the runner-up position in the high jump in 2nd place with his leap of 6'6". Both Baughman and Landon have had very good performances this year for the Yellow Jackets. Landon will return next year to CHS and plans to compete in cross country in the fall, basketball in the winter and of course, track and field in the spring of 2012. Baughman has earned the opportunity to compete at the NCAA Division I level in track and field at Southern Illinois University next year where he will compete in the pole vault in both indoor and outdoor seasons for the Salukis.
