What's Up at St. Mark's?

During the last few weeks St. Mark's teachers and staff have been working on many end-of-year tasks. Just as students had to clean out desks and lockers, school personel have a lot of chores to do before they close the classroom doors for the summer---chores that wind down the school year. But as the past year is being packed away, plans are also being made for next year. Supplies and new books are chosen and ordered, reorganizing is done to prepare for the fall, floors are polished and walls are painted. The school theme for next year is also chosen. Themes are chosen to help all of us-teachers, staff, students, and families---focus on the fact that we are not here at St. Mark's just to teach or learn academic subjects, not just to develop job skills and improve behavioral habits. We are here, as last year's theme reminded us, to "Be Connected in Christ." With that in mind, next year we will be looking at and studying about "Our Journey of Faith."

As your family begins another summer with the many opportunities and activities that it brings, think about your journey of faith. If you haven't been sharing regular home devotions, consider making that a part of your family faith journey. Continue to connect with Christ this summer.

We said goodbye to Miss Megan Wittenborn, our part-time kindergarten teacher this past year. She will be teaching full-time in Red Bud, where we wish her God's blessings. We enjoyed getting to know her and will miss her in the classroom and as a friend.
