</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[HELEN LA FERN "FERN" BIERMAN, 86, of Chester, IL, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home in Chester, IL.

She was born to the late Louis and Lydia (nee: Brun) Dodillet on April 4, 1925 in DeSoto, MO.

She married A. G. Bierman on February 27, 1975. He survives.

Fern was a retired Sergeant from the Department of Corrections and also a homemaker.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chester, Illinois, a life-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary #0487 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3252.
