PCHS?Foundation Hosts Diamonds for Dollars Softball Tournament July 8-10
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Pinckneyville High School Education Foundation Board of Directors is sponsoring a Fast Pitch Softball Tournament July 8 through July 10 and an All You Can Eat- Fish, Shrimp & Chicken Event on Saturday, July 9 .
On Saturday, July 9, PCHS Education Foundation will hold the Fish, Shrimp, and Chicken Event at the City of Pinckneyville Fairgrounds Grandstand. It runs from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $8.50 for adults and $5.50 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be bought at the door, through a board member, or a participating softball player. The meal includes fried walleye, popcorn shrimp, chicken strips, potato salad, cole slaw, applesauce, baked beans and hush puppies. Tea and lemonade will be provided. Many different desserts will be available, sold separately.
On July 8 - July 10, Diamonds for Dollars fast pitch softball tournament will take place on all playing fields in the city fairgrounds. There is no admission charge for the softball tournament to watch the teams ranging in age brackets, 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U. The softball teams comprise local Dirt Diamonds teams and those from other surrounding cities such as Carbondale, Belleville, Highland, Mt. Vernon, Elkville, Flora, New Athens and more. Sun, fun and concessions will be available.
All profits from these two events will be used to fund the endowment program established by the PCHS Education Foundation. The Foundation's goal is to raise $100,00 in new funds, over and above the current existing fund level by June 2012.
