</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Swimming Indians scored a big win on Tuesday night, traveling to Marion and coming home with a 442-266 victory over the hosting Marlins while five Du Quoin swimming records were broken. The convincing win over Marion was the first for the Indians against the Marlins in over a decade.

Cody Bailey wasn't one of the six Swimming Indians to win three events on Tuesday night, but he made his mark in the two events he did claim, breaking Jerry Kuhnert's team records in the Boys 13-14 100m freestyle (1:02.90 to 1:03.85) and 50m butterfly (31.54 to 31.67).

Kuhnert put his name in the record books in the 15-18 division - breaking Caseton Luthy's 2010 mark in the 100m individual medley (1:08.64 to 1:08.73) and also took home first place in the 100m breaststroke.

Olivia Cravens continued her assault on the Du Quoin girls 9-10 record books, breaking Caryn Parrish's 1990 time of 1:26.43 with a 1:25.85 in the 100m IM. Cravens didn't stop there, winning both the 25m and 50m freestyle events as well.

By just 0.01 seconds, Trevor Jones eclipsed the boys 13-14 50m backstroke mark set by Patrick Tolliver back in 1991 with his time of 34.54. Jones also swam away with wins in the 50m freestyle and 100m IM.

Other triple winners for Du Quoin included Lauren Heape (girls 7-8 25m freestyle, 25m breaststroke, 25m butterfly), Paxton Higgerson (boys 10&un 100m IM, boys 9-10 25m breaststroke, 25m freestyle), Jacob Harsy (boys 7-8 50m freestyle, 25m breaststroke, 25m butterfly) and Chris Zuck (boys 11-12 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 100m IM).

Other girls that were winners of at least one event on Tuesday at Marion were Addi Darnell (6&un 25m freestyle, 25m backtroke), Maya Russell (7-8 50m freestyle), Emma Fischer (7-8 25m backstroke), Rachel Gomes (9-10 25m backstroke), Lauren Cravens (9-10 25m breaststroke, 25m butterfly), Quinn Kirkpatrick (11-12 50m backstroke, 100m IM), Haley Kuhnert (11-12 50m breaststroke), Madeleine Cravens (13-14 50m freestyle), Courtney Rudloff (13-14 50m breaststroke) and Miranda Payne (15-18 100m breaststroke).

Other boys who came in first in at least one race included Luthy (15-18 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle), Gage Green (6&un 25m freestyle, 25m backstroke), Tyler VanZandt (7-8 25m freestyle), Shamar Adams (9-10 25m backstroke), Aaron Korbar (11-12 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle), and Nicholas King (11-12 50m breaststroke).

A full run-down of all of Du Quoin's top six finishers in each event appears on Page 7 of Wednesday's Du Quoin Evening Call.

The Swimming Indians return to action in the pool Thursday, July 7 at Herrin.
