SWIMMING: Dolphins defeat Chester at home
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Five different Dolphins won three events and Pinckneyville defeated Chester 361-289 in Tuesday night's home swim meet at the Bender Municipal Swimming Pool.
Ian Henne, Gavin Sronce, Savannah Cheek, Deanne Brand and Coleman Choate each won three individual events to help carry the Dolphins, who also won ten relays on the evening.
Henne has now won six races in his past two meets after taking home first in the boys 13-14 50m butterfly, 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke. Henne took home three freestyle victories at the Larry Jukes Memorial Freestyle Classic this past Saturday.
Sronce had two second place finishes at the Freestyle Classic, and improved on that performance with wins Tuesday in the boys 9-10 25m backstroke, 25m breaststroke and 100m individual medley.
Cheek won the girls 11-12 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke and 100m IM; Brand took the girls 15-18 100m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 100m IM; and Choate was the winner of the boys 15-18 50m butterfly, 100m freestyle and 100m IM. Choate edged teammate Zach Hall by 0.01 seconds in the 100m IM.
Hall (boys 15-18 100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke), Carly Heisner (girls 6&un 25m backstroke, 25m freestyle), Barrett Denny (boys 8&un 25m backstroke, 25m breaststroke), Nile Adcock (boys 8&un 25m butterfly, 25m freestyle), Roslyn Sronce (girls 8&un 25m butterfly, 25m freestyle), and Gailen Hall (boys 13-14 100m breaststroke, 100m IM) rounded out the multiple-event winners for the Dolphins.
Pinckneyville also got individual wins from Lexi Hepp (girls 13-14 100m backstroke), Cole Kelly (boys 9-10 25m butterfly), Alivia Owings (girls 8&un 25m breaststroke), Ryan Brueggeman (boys 11-12 50m breaststroke), Olivia Chapman (girls 13-14 100m breaststroke), Shelby Hall (girls 15-18 100m breaststroke), Karsen Konkel (boys 6&un 25m freestyle), Noah Sprehe (boys 11-12 50m freestyle) and Sarah Loos (girls 15-18 100m freestyle).

The Dolphins swim team is at home again on Thursday against Red Bud at 6:30 p.m., then is off until July 7 at Carlyle.
