COSTELLO ANNOUNCES HHS GRANT FOR SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY CARBONDALE
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Southern Illinois University Carbondale has been awarded a $363,750 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The funds will be used for a research project, directed by Dr. Dale B. Hales, titled "Therapeutic Efficacy of Flaxseed in the Treatment of Ovarian Cancer."
"Investing in research and development provides tremendous benefits not only to the university, but all of society," said Costello. "This is another example of SIUC's standing as a leading academic institution, and I will continue to support these efforts."
