Geraldine H. Ragland

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Geraldine H. "Ged" Ragland, age 90, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. in Pinckneyville Healthcare Center, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Ged was born on April 17, 1921 in Pinckneyville, Ill., a daughter to Harmon and Lou Ellen (Plumlee) Koenegstein. On Nov. 27, 1947, she married Robert Hess and he preceded her in death in January 1955. In 1957, she married Wilbur K. "Wib" Ragland and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2004. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. Ged was a loving mother and grandmother and dearly loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include two sons, David Hess of Fort Collins, Colo. and Kent (Pat) Ragland of Kirkwood, Mo.; two daughters, Cathy (Steve) Plumlee of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Susan Ragland of South River, N.J.; six grandchildren, Kelley and Kyle Ragland, Shawn and Cory Plumlee and Brandon and Easton Hess and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; four brothers, Dale, Russell "Chop", Carl "Cotton" and Melbourne and two sisters, Midge Schneider and Marjorie Koenegstein.

Funeral services were held at the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Barnett officiating. Interment was in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Friends called at the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
