Halleck F. Reese
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Halleck F. Reese, age 90 of Pinckneyville, Ill. passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11:57 p.m. in Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, Ill.
Halleck was born on Dec. 4, 1920 in Pinckneyville, Ill., a son to Frederick H. and Beulah E. (Mansker) Reese. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, proudly serving during WW II as a pilot in the Pacific Theater. On June 15, 1945, he married Babette Heisler in Los Angeles, Calif. and she survives. Halleck owned and operated Reese's News Stand until the late 1960's when he began operating H.F. Reese and A.F. Reese Accountants. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, Ill., a former volunteer fireman, served on the city council, and was the treasurer for the City of Pinckneyville, Ill. for over 20 years. He was also a member of Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post 2504, Pinckneyville, Ill., member and former past master of Mitchell Masonic Lodge, serving as secretary for many years and he was a Shriner. Halleck also served on the I.O.O.F. Cemetery Board, and formerly served on the First National Bank Board, Pinckneyville, Ill.
Halleck is survived by his wife, Babette Reese of Pinckneyville, Ill.; one son Rick (Donna Markotay) Reese of Pinckneyville, Ill.; six grandchildren, Beth (Brad) Turner of Nashville, Tenn., Lisa Toliver of Chicago, Ill., Erin (Corey) Cain of Nashville, Tenn., Christina Reese of Du Quoin, Ill., Suzanne Reese of Carterville, Ill. and Donovan Reese of Pinckneyville, Ill.; two great-grandchildren, Reese and Ryan Turner of Nashville, Tenn.; one son-in-law, Tom Toliver of Sparta, Ill. and several dear nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Vicki Tolliver and two brothers, Kenneth Reese and Paul Reese.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Cindy Bean officiating. Interment was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.
Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Masonic services were held on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
