Donald Eugene Morgan

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Donald Eugene Morgan, 77, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:15 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Medco Center in Paducah, Ky.

Donald was a retired SMS in the U.S. Air Force serving from 1958 to 1978 and had served in Viet Nam during that time. He had also served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. After his retirement from the military, Donald worked for 16 years in maintenance at MUMS in Pinckneyville. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin. He was a life member of the American Legion and a member of the non commission officers association.

He was born March 19, 1934 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of Clarence E. and Pearl (Horn) Morgan.

Donald married Elvira Quinn on Nov. 6, 1954 at Cornith, Miss. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, three sisters- Linda O&#39;Day, Connie Morgan and Vickie Carroll, all of Du Quoin, three brothers- Jerry Morgan of Du Quoin, Mike Morgan of Elkville and Randy Morgan of Carbondale, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister- Beverly Beggs.

Funeral services were at Noon, Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Friends called from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Military graveside rites were conducted by the Du Quoin VFW and American Legion and Air Force.
