Dorothy E. Barber

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Dorothy E. Barber, age 88, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 11:05 a.m. at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Carbondale, Ill.

Dorothy was born on Nov. 28, 1922 in East St. Louis, Ill., a daughter to Harry Jack and Florence (Steinwax) Ragland, Sr. Over 70 wonderful years ago, on March 1, 1941, she married Bob Barber in Perryville, Mo. and he survives. She was a homemaker, a member of the First Christian Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. and enjoyed crocheting, reading books, shopping, traveling and long rides in the car. Her true love, though, was taking care of her family.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Barber of Pinckneyville, Ill.; two daughters, Janet (Francis) Archer of Decatur, Ill. and Connie (Augie) Kellerman of Pinckneyville, Ill.; a son, Jimmie Barber of Paducah, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Robert Archer of Murphysboro, Ill., Rick (Rebecca) Archer of Springfield, Mo., Donna Archer of Springfield, Mo., Staci (Jim) Reid of Wildwood, Mo., Nathan (Shayla) Kellerman of Pinckneyville, Ill., Nolan Kellerman of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Shelby Kellerman (Drew Tabor) of Vail, Colo.; seven great-grandchildren, Logan Archer, Mariah Archer, Amy (Nathan) Crabtree, Megan Archer and Keegan, Peyton and Hallie Kellerman, and two great-great-grandchildren, Jaden and Jeffrey Crabtree.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harry Ragland, Jr.; a sister, Erma Jean Settlemoir; and a granddaughter-in-law, Cindy Archer.

Funeral services were held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Tim Bauersachs officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park, Du Quoin, Ill.

Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
