William E. Queen Sr.

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[William E. "Bill" Queen Sr., 60, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:22 p.m., Sunday, July 31, 2011 at the St. Louis University Hospital at St. Louis, Mo.

Bill had worked as a mixer at a factory.

He was born June 19, 1951 at Lawton, Okla., the son of Tom and Betty (Gerstenschlager) Hasty.

He married Jewel Campbell on Oct. 31, 1997 at Du Quoin and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, his parents of Du Quoin, five children - William E. Queen, Jr. and wife Jenny of Chicago, Ill., Thomas Queen of Chicago, Ill., Chanda Dunmyer and husband Matthew of Dowell, Chandra Queen and Stanley Rector of Du Quoin and Jacob Campbell of Du Quoin and 16 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother - Paul Queen and one granddaughter - Mieka Queen.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 8, 2011 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Gerstenschlager Cemetery at Pinckneyville at a later date.
