Lester Conner

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lester Conner, age 72, of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011 at 2:15 p.m. in Fairview Nursing Center, Du Quoin, Ill.

Lester was born on March 13, 1939 in Du Quoin, Ill., a son to Orel and Nettie (Short) Conner. On July 19, 1958, he married Yvette Dunson in Du Quoin, Ill. and she preceded him in death on Nov. 14, 2007. Lester was employed as a truck driver at Gibharts for four years, Blue Bell Packing Company for three years and Coca-Cola Bottling Company for 15 years. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Du Quoin, Ill., and enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling and race cars. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Lester is survived by two sons, Gene (Vicky) Conner of Loretto, Ky. and Matthew (Danielle) Conner of Tamaroa, Ill.; four daughters, Patsy (Wayne) Teffertiller of Tamaroa, Ill., Vivian (David) Keller of Gillette, Wyo., Teresa Stowers (Richard Boardman) of Tamaroa, Ill. and Beth Conner of Du Quoin, Ill.; five sisters , Violet Shelton of Du Quoin, Ill., Joan (Larry) Waltermate of Du Quoin, Ill., Carleen (Buddy) Parker of Smyrna, Tenn., Barbara (Marlin) Nevill of Du Quoin, Ill. and Phyllis (Larry) Woodside of Pinckneyville, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Florence (Stevens) Conner; two sisters, Jenny Atkins and Brenda Kay Conner and two grandsons, Dennis Wayne Dimitroff and Shawn Allen Dimitroff.

Funeral services were held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, Ill. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Paul Ice and Jerry Whittington officiating.

The family invited friends and family to a luncheon after the service at the Church of the Nazarene, Du Quoin, Ill.

Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, Ill. on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
