Local man dies in motorcycle accident
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ A Chester man died as a result of a motorcycle accident on Saturday evening.
David Straight, 53, was traveling westbound on Shawneetown Trail when he negotiated a curve to the south and ran off the right side of the roadway approximately 50 feet south of Greager Lane. Straight then traveled in the grass between the roadway and a small ditch for approximately 366 feet He then crossed the small ditch and began to overturn and roll coming to a rest at the edge of a soybean field approximately 81 feet after crossing the small ditch. He was ejected and came to rest along the roadway shoulder approximately 37 feet past his Harley Davidson Softail motorcycle.
Straight was participating in the fifth annual TIm Hartman Memorial Poker run at the time of the accident.
Straight worked as a receiving manager at Rozier's Country Market in Chester.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chester, IL and was a former church council and choir member.
A memorial Service was held Tuesday, August 23 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester, IL
Memorials may be made to the Family
A Private burial will be held at a later date.
