Alex McGill recovered a fumbled and returned it 8 yards for a touchdown with 3:56 to go in the first quarter, but by then the Mules had already been in the end zone twice. The second trip was a 46-yard run by Dyllan Bailey, who totaled 139 yards on his 13 carries during the game. Bailey later scored again from 25 yards out.

While Fairfield continued to pour on the offense with 393 total yards, the Falcons were held to just 34 total rushing yards while McGill was 1-for-3 passing for one yard.

Kenny Loos saw the most success in the backfield for Elverado-Trico, netting 33 yards on 4 carries. McGill (9-10), Dalton Porter (9-3), Brian McClanahan (2-4), Tyler Grigsby (2-10), Wade Bowlin (1-10) and Barnes (1-4) also carried the ball for the Falcons. Bryce Mathis made the only reception.

In week three, Elverado-Trico is at Eldorado (7:00 p.m. Friday).
