Francis Eugene Martin

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Francis "Frank" Eugene Martin, age 73, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011 at 8:50 a.m. in Friendship Manor Nursing Center, Nashville, Ill.

Frank was born on June 29, 1938 in Du Quoin, Ill., a son to George F. and Caroline L. "Carrie" (Bruns) Martin. On June 12, 1959, he married Shirley P. Giacomo in St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. and she preceded him in death on February 27, 2004. Frank and Shirley lived in Pekin, Ill. for 40 years, where he worked long and hard hours as a cement truck driver for Morton Ready Mix, Americo Ready Mix Co. and Materials Construction. After retiring early due to his long fight with diabetes, he moved back to Pinckneyville, Ill. in 1997. He dearly loved spending time with his wife, daughters, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Frank enjoyed working with wood and working around the yard with his wife. He was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and a member of the Teamsters since 1960.

Frank is survived by one daughter, Michelle Martin (fianc&#233;, Rocky Clopton); one granddaughter, Valerie Whaley; great-granddaughter, Hayden Storm Whaley, all of Pinckneyville, Ill.; five brothers, George (Maxine) Martin of Perryville, Mo., Joe (Marilyn) Martin, John Martin, Bernard (Jane) Martin all of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Steve Martin of Percy, Ill.; five sisters, Juliann Loos of Belvidere, Ill., Mary Faulkner of Pinckneyville, Ill., Tammy Martin (fianc&#233;e, Mickey Oliver) of Coulterville, Ill., Mary (Doug) Skort of Centralia, Ill. and Cristina (Lee) Moore of Smyrna, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two daughters, Debra Rene and Rhonda Kay Martin; grandson, Carl "CJ" Dane and three sisters, Carolyn Martin, Joann Sexton, and Cathy Presswood.

Funeral mass was held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Brian Barker officiating. Interment was in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The rosary was recited at 12:00 p.m.
