Those with cancer - and their friends and families - need not feel like the disease should be battled in silence or in shame. Now survivors, patients and health-care providers share the weight of decisions and feelings, and discuss hurdles and successes in everyday conversation.
In observance of Breast Cancer awareness month The Randolph County Herald Tribune 'Painting Chester Pink' with special promotions and stories.
Our stories will show you the support that is available online, nationally, in your town and through local resources.
Also, we will be featuring local survivor stories - yet more reason to celebrate October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The 'I wear Pink for,' promotion consists of 2x2 ads for only $15. It is comparable to the lighted luminaries in honor or memory of a loved one for breast cancer.
We are also making our newspaper header pink for the entire month of October. In addition we will also be giving away a 'pink' gift basket, as well as numerous other give-a-ways. To enter just come into the Randolph County Herald Tribune and register. The basket is themed around pink and includes numerous pink items.
The Randolph County Herald Tribune will donate 10 cents from every newspaper sold during month of October to the Randolph County Breast Cancer, as well as $5 from any new or renewed credit card subscription during the month of October.
"As Publisher of the Herald Tribune, I would like to challenge all the businesses in Randolph County to help us "Paint Chester Pink" in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We have four large pink ribbons painted in our front windows and would love to see pink ribbons and other decorations displayed not only at businesses but also at homes," said Sabrina Franklin.
