Rally for a cure huge success

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Twenty-0ne ladies stepped up to the "tee box" September 27 at the Chester Country Club to raise funds to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. This was the 9th year for the "fun day" of golf. After golf, the ladies enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by the Country Club staff. Prizes were not awarded for low scores, but those whose ball landed on the #5 Green and stayed on received a Susan G. Komen logo ball. Rhonda Bockhorn was the winner of the Cleveland Ladies Golf Bag for her ball landing closest to the flag on #5.

Co-Chairmen Judy Petrowske and Bev Allison were very appreciative of the community support for this very worthwhile project. We want to thank all merchants and individuals who made monetary donations as well as attendance prizes.

Due to the overwhelming support from the community this year, the total amount forwarded to the Susan G. Komen Foundation was $860.00. Cancer has touched many lives in our community, but with team effort as witnessed this year, it is evident that this community is concerned to someday find a cure for this disease. The "10th Annual Rally for A Cure" will surely be scheduled on the Chester Country Club calendar in 2012 as a means to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
