Yellow Jackets win big

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Chester's football squad got back on track Friday night with an impressive 51-12 home win over Elverado. Things did look a little troublesome for Chester fans as the Falcons scored six points just 19 seconds into the contest, but after that it was all Chester.

The Yellow Jackets tied the game on their first drive, which ended with a 22 yard run by Joel Clendenin. Chester also took advantage of great field position on a drive in the second quarter to go up 12-6 on a five yard touchdown run by Stephen Roth.

Everything went Chester's way in a dominating third-quarter performance. The Yellow Jackets took advantage of some turnovers by Elverado to score on every possession but one. Touchdown runs of 42 yards by Clendenin, eight yards by Clendenin, one yard by Roth, a 29 yard interception return by Caleb Golding and an 82 yard run by Tyler Brockhouse made the score 45-6 by the end of the period.

With the subs seeing some playing time in the fourth, Elverado scored on a 78 yard pass play at the 11:39 mark and Chester added a four yard touchdown run by Austen Barnhart in the final moments.

All of Chester's offense came on the ground as quarterback Jake Lochhead only attempted one pass in this contest. Clendenin finished as the leading rusher with 120 yards, Roth had 98 and Brockhouse added 81.

Chester's defense turned in an excellent performance and virtually shut down Elverado's offense with the exception of two plays. Elverado threw two interceptions and lost two fumbles. Tyler Reid and Boyd Miles each recorded a quarterback sack for Chester.

Chester will take their record of two wins and four losses to Eldorado for a 7:00 kickoff Friday night
