Kaskaskia Regional Port District names new general manager
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ George Obemagel, Chairman announced today that the Kaskaskia Regional Port District has hired Ed Weilbacher to be the General Manager of the District.He replaces George Andres who retired in June.
The Kaskaskia Regional Port District serves the area of Monroe, Randolph and the souther part of St. Counties. The district works to create jobs by creating a copetitive environment for the transportation of goods and products through river, rail and road. The District partners with businesses to facilitate their existing or expanding needs that can include sites, infrastructure, and liaison with frederal, state and local agencies. The district is uniquely positioned to serve both the Mississippi and Kaskaskia Rivers.
Mr. Weilbacher brings to the District a regional knowledge base to connect with the agencies and organizations to help local businesses and new businesses grow the region and to expand opportunities. mr. Weilbacher formerly worked for USDA NRCS's Resource Conservation and Development program. he lives in Waterloo, IL where he and his wife also run the Senator Rickert Bed and Breakfast.
Mr. Andres will continue to assist the Port in a limited capacity.
