The Illinois Division includes the counties of St. Clair, Clinton, Monroe and Randolph. The campaign ends on November 8.
"In a challenging economic climate we are encouraged by the number of campaigns with increasing returns as well as the new companies running campaigns," said Chuck Mueller, the 2011 Illinois Division campaign chair. "Much of the success to date is due to the hard work of the volunteers and staff educating folks of the critical needs as well as the generosity of those within our community to meet that need."
"Everyone knows someone who is unemployed or someone who is struggling," said Gary Dollar, president and CEO of United Way of Greater St. Louis. "When people are in need our community steps up to help. By doing so through United Way, you can be assured your donations are wisely invested in quality agencies to help people."
