Original cartoon short pays tribute to famous studios Popeye theatricals
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Fred Grandinetti, host of the award winning cable access series, Drawing With Fred, has been involved with keeping Popeye the Sailor in the public eye.
He is the author of 5 Popeye related publications and a number of published articles in various newspapers and magazines. Grandinetti played a significant role in getting the original black and white theatrical Popeye films restored for broadcast on the Cartoon Network's The Popeye Show.
Grandinetti was diligent in making sure these same films would be released on DVD.
He grew up watching and enjoying the color Popeye theatrical cartoons produced by Famous Studios.
The Stumpf Family Goes to the Beach is a brief original cartoon short, written by Grandinetti, which pays tribute to the sailor's adventures which came out of Famous. The cartoon features music and sound effects composed by
Winston Sharples. Sharples music has been heard in several animated series including Popeye, Little Lulu, Harveytoons, Betty Boop and Felix the Cat.
The Stumpf Family consists of Brandon, Jen, Madison and Avery who are a real family. Brandon Stumpf is an actor, model and middle school art teacher.
Also in the cartoon is actor and film producer, Cuyle Carvin, who has worked with Grandinetti on previous projects.
The animation was provided by the staff at ARG! Animation (www.artie.com). The cartoon will be included in several episodes of Drawing With Fred and can be viewed on You Tube.
