Fire Destroys Tamaroa Home

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[A 10 a.m. Sunday fire heavily damaged the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Higgerson along Rt. 51 about a half-mile north of the intersection of Rt. 51 and 154 (Sunfield wye). The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Higgerson said he was not home at the time of fire, which he believes began in an old electrical panel on the second floor of the brick home. Tamaroa, Sesser, Pinckneyville Rural Fire Protection District firefighters and the Du Quoin Fire Department all responded to the blaze. The fire departments were on scene throughout most of the afternoon. Rt. 51 as blocked off and on as tanker trucks came and went transporting water to the fire. The home is insured through the Linzee Agency of Du Quoin.
