Robert Walter Hamilton Jr.
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Robert Walter Hamilton Jr., 70, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:01 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Robert had worked for 13 years as a mental health technician for the State of Illinois. He had also been a CTA bus driver, railroad detective and truck driver. He was a member of the First Church of Israel in Ullin, Ill. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Robert enjoyed playing golf.
He was born May 19, 1941 at Chicago, Ill., the son of Robert Walter and Pinkey (Schuller) Hamilton.
He is survived by two daughters - Leah Hamilton and Meah Hamilton, both of Ullin, Ill., five sons - Byron Jones of Chicago, David Hamilton of Chicago, Daniel Hamilton of Ullin, Ill., Quintin Norris of Carbondale and Elijah Hamilton of Chicago, two nephews - Gregory Q. Hamilton and Jesse Hamilton, two nieces - Michelle Rogers and Shari Hamilton, nine grandchildren, a host of great nieces, great nephews, and one great great nephew. He is also survived by Betty Hamilton, Jackie Hamilton and Maxie Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter - Bathsheba Hamilton, two sisters - Delores Rucker and Barbara Jean Hamilton and one nephew - Anthony Hamilton.
Funeral services were at Noon on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with David Davis officiating.
Friends called from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Cremation services followed the service.
Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin at a later date.
